Root Canals in Espanola
Don’t Let Tooth Pain Linger
When the inside of a tooth becomes inflamed or infected, it can cause sharp pain, swelling, or sensitivity. But it doesn’t always mean the tooth has to be removed. Root canal treatment allows us to clean out the infection and protect your tooth from further damage — so you can get relief and keep your smile intact.
At Espanola Dental Centre, we perform root canals with a gentle hand, clear communication, and an understanding that no one wants to be in the chair longer than necessary.
Signs You Might Need A Root Canal
We may recommend treatment if you’re experiencing:
Throbbing or severe tooth pain
Sensitivity to heat or pressure
Swelling or tenderness around the gums
A pimple-like bump near the tooth
Discolouration of the affected tooth
In some cases, there are no obvious symptoms — which is why regular checkups and X-rays are important.
What The Procedure Involves
Despite its reputation, a root canal is a straightforward procedure — often no more complicated than getting a filling. We’ll numb the area completely, then:
Remove the infected or damaged tissue inside the tooth
Clean and disinfect the root canals
Seal the space to prevent reinfection
In most cases, place a crown to protect the tooth
The procedure is done over one or two visits depending on your situation. We’ll guide you through each step and make sure you feel comfortable before we begin.
After Your Root Canal
Some mild soreness is normal afterward, but most patients feel much better once the source of the pain is removed. We’ll provide aftercare instructions and check in on your healing — and if a crown is part of your treatment, we’ll schedule that follow-up.
