Meet Our Doctors & Denturist
Dr. Samodee
From the first time we met Dr. Samodee, we knew he would fit right in with the team at Espanola Dental Centre! His genuine passion for helping others has led him to pursue a career in dentistry, where his main focus is to help his patients (you!) achieve the best oral health possible in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Through his international studies in Sydney, Australia, he obtained his doctorate of dental medicine in dentistry. Dr. Samodee returned home to Canada to practice in Toronto, where he performed a wide range of dental treatments for patients of all ages. Giving back to the community is very important, as evidenced in his volunteer work in rural areas of South Australia and Guatemala.
In his spare time, you might see Dr. Samodee rock climbing, biking or spending time with his family and friends. We are happy to welcome him to the team and can’t wait for you to meet him.
Tim Nguyen
Tim Nguyen’s experience and dedication have allowed him to create quality, custom dentures for every patients’ needs. Whether it be a partial, full or implant retained denture, all are made directly by his hands. He takes pride and enjoys the challenges in correcting smiles and refitting dentures allowing you to eat properly and support your smile. Tim looks forward to meeting you and helping you to maintain your healthy happy smile.
Dr. Samson So
Dr. So provides wonderful care to his patients and is a general dentist who focuses on providing oral surgery with sedation. He obtained his dental degree from Western University in 2016 and has gone on to take many continuing education courses. He is passionate about education and is an Adjunct Clinic Professor at Western University in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery division.

Jody
Office Manager
Jody was born and raised in the Espanola area and is now married with four children. After 10 years as a Personal Support worker and a few years before that in administration she continues to keep her great communication skills in the dental office. She’s always had a great love for comforting people and this dental position has allowed her to maintain that positivity for the last 5 years. She has been passionate about learning the dental field and in helping guide the team. When Jody is away from the office, she spends her time with her family doing many outdoor activities.
Melissa
Administrative Associate
Melissa was born and raised in Corner Brook, Newfoundland where she worked as a personal support worker. She had the opportunity to work reception at an Orthopedic Surgeon’s office and thoroughly enjoyed it. She and her family moved to Ontario in 2019 and immediately she started working at our dental office and is happy to stay in the medical field where she loves it best. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys camping and boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.
Ashley
Registered Dental Hygienist
Ashley has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 13+ years, working in Gore Bay, Kirkland Lake and now Espanola. She was born and raised in Espanola and feels so privileged to have been able to come back home and work in such a wonderful office. Through the years she has held positions of Dental Assistant, Office Manager and Dental Hygienist. She has been able to experience many different roles in the dental office which has provided her the opportunity to help her patients even more. She is thankful for all the experience she has gained and looks forward to continue to work with everyone here at the Espanola Dental Centre.
Nikki
Registered Dental Hygienist
Nikki was born and raised just north of Sudbury and has been living in the Espanola area for the last few years. She has been consistently working as a Registered Dental Hygienist for 30 years and is still very passionate about her career. She prides herself in providing the best care to her patients with compassion and professionalism. Outside of the office she can be found with her family and friends on the water- fishing in the summer, out on her boat or snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter.
Sarah
Dental Team Member
Sarah has grown up in Northern Ontario and very much enjoys the outdoors. Whether it be hiking the forest or paddle boarding the water, outside is where she loves it most. After being in the pharmaceutical industry she felt the desire to try something new. Sarah, although new, is enjoying the learning curve in the dental office and its operations.
Daniele
Registered Dental Hygienist
Daniele has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for more than 30 years, working in the Espanola area for the last 25. She grew up and completed her studies in Sudbury and started her career in Northwestern Ontario. After 5 years in the Kenora District, her family made the move to Espanola/Manitoulin where she continues to work to this day. As a result of her husbands’ recent retirement, she now works just 2 days a week. Daniele still very much enjoys treating and interacting with existing patients as well as meeting new ones. On her days off, she loves to do wood working, home renovations, and enjoys living her life on their lakefront property.
Krystle
CDA Level II
Krystle was raised and spent many years in Southern Ontario. In early 2023 she made the move to Espanola where she loves the small-town vibe. 2 years ago, she changed her career path from finance to become a dental assistant. Her passion for assisting reflects with her positivity, reassuring patients. Outside of work she spends time paddle boarding and beach play outdoors with her 3 children.
